The Process of Contact Supervision

Our first focus is your child. We do this by observing their behaviours and observing the parent child relationship between their both parents, that being the supervised parent and the handover process of the residential parent.

The goal for the Children Contact Specialist is to see if the child fits the definition of an alienated or resistant child and to assess why the child is rejecting a parent and refusing contact or where there are allegations of abuse, how does the child relate to the supervised parent.

The process of reunification

When children and parents have experienced forced separation from one another because of abuse, parental alienation, high conflict, and allegations, these are all likely to cause post-traumatic stress which could nearly regress the relationship between the child and parent if not handled with care.

During the supervision process, each component is treated with care, sensitivity and mindfulness as each child is given the opportunity to quietly ‘lead’ the process. With the expectation where possible alienation is a factor, children of parental alienation do act a certain way, the reconnection process is approached differently with the parent they claim to hate, despite even when the child  hold their position, we allow each child the opportunity to engage with both parents unconditionally,  without the influence of the other, and in a timeline they dictate.

During the process for child where it is alleged or have been exposed to abuse, the child will also lead the way, therefore, parents must be mindful that a child resisting the other parent, could be out of fear, confusion and conflict, therefore, time and patience is imperative for the long-term goal to be achieved.

Our specialty in awareness of children concerns through observation, educating parents of the expectations and that time is on the child's side to allow the process to be reflected truthfully.
