DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Only A Shadow Support Program

For many of us, we have experienced the grim reality of being a victim of an abusive relationship. The shocking reality is that Family and Domestic Violence is recycled every day. Whether it comes in the form of physical, emotional, mental, financial, stalking or intimate abuse, what most victims know is that when something is not ok. Furthermore, victims know already that any kind of abuse is not ok.

Regardless of gender, sexuality, culture and traditional background, you do not deserve to be treated this way. Sadly, for victims, the difficulties is coming to terms with you cannot change an abuser and you cannot help these people. Victims fall into the trap of fuelling the behaviours because abusers are climaxed by their victims reaction of damaging the victims. This is why victims have to leave their abuser. For many this is not always so easy.

Parenting Together Apart for Parents NOT Together understand that when we have recognised of a probable domestic violence setting, that approaching each situation must be done with planning, strategy and care.

We also recognise that not all victims are ready to leave or want to leave their abuser, therefore, working with a victims in a way that supports them.

We also recognise that not all public services can assist and are the answer, therefore our process to assess each situation and provide victims options to consider with ongoing support allows victims to make informed decisions.

PTA also acknowledge that victims is not gender based, and therefore, encourage all victims despite gender to come forward.

PTA acknowledge that not all victims see themselves as a victim, and therefore, the conversations around this could be optional for reflection.

PTA offer a Domestic Violence program No Longer a Shadow supporting victims transition into empowerment so if and when they decide enough is enough, they also know they are not alone.
